Default Arcane Mimicry + Assassin's Promise / Oath Shot

How does it work?

If you Arcane Mimicry Assassin's Promise, does the Promise recharge when you kill the target with AP on or does it go back to it revert back to a recharged Arcane Mimicry?

Same for Oath Shot... Anyone know?

Can't Archane Echo Oath Shot... Oath Shot is a bow attack, and the only thing that can "echo" anything is Echo, which is another elite...

It seems like a valid question to me.

I don't get the 'bow attack' part, it's still a skill -> mimicry. You just can't Arcane Echo it afterward, but you can Echo after the Mimicry I guess.

The mimcried skill behaves like the original, so my guess would be Oath Shot won't recharge itself (as per description), and won't recharge Mimicry either (since you don't have the skill anymore at that time). Assissin's Promise will recharge itself (provided you kill the target within the 20s duration of Mimicry), or Arcane Mimicry if it has already reverted.
And, yes, I know Promise lasts 5..13 seconds, but it can still outlast Mimicry if you cast it late -> cast Mimicry again, get a recharged Promise.

Arcane Mimicry can copy any elite skill from an ally. So, assuming you were Mesmer primary OR secondary, and that you had neither elite already, the way to have both Promise and Oath would be to Arcane Echo Arcane Mimicry, then have 2 people in the party, one with Oath Shot and one with Assassin's Promise. I would bet that Oath would recharge Promise, and vice-versa.

The problem with this is you pretty much have to be Ranger primary to consider Oath Shot a viable skill, as it is linked to expertise and has a failure chance of 50% IIRC with too few points in Expertise. So, you could be Ranger/Mes, carry Oath Shot, then use Arcane Mimicry on an Assassin with Promise.

Hm I wasn't intending no using both elite's on the same bar, was just wondering what kind of behavior Arcane Mimicry does with an 'all your skills are recharged' situation.

I guess Oath Shot doesn't matter as quite rightly it doesn't recharge itself. But Assassin's Promise does, so I'm just wondering if it will recharge AP or if it will present a recharged Arcane Mimicry...

Edit: I'll just go test tonite ;D

Oath Shot is more or less useless with Mimicry. To use it effectively you have to be R/Me, and use quite a lot of energy... easier to just bring Oath Shot as your elite and mimicry something else!

It is possible to recharge Mimicry with AP, but still difficult. What you have to do is know when AP is about to disappear off of your bar, then cast it on a target, and after it disappears, spike the target down quickly. My best success with this method has been using another skill as a timer, say activating a 20 second recharge stance as soon as you cast Mimicry, or immediatly precasting an enchant which you can use as a benchmark... I wont give any secrets away, but it was a team consisting of 6 E/Me, and I could keep multiple Meteor Showers down... constantly, indefinatly.

The easiest way to use it is on a Me/A or A/Me, and simply carry AP as your elite, and mimicry whatever else you need. Its much more limited, but in PVE it might just be possible to keep Shadow Form up *all* the time using this, spam Auspicious Nightmares (though not particularly useful), or do any number of other things.
